FC Barcelona remains a dream club for many aspiring footballers and many of the world’s finest players. Beyond their financial issues and even external problems, the Catalan club continues to maintain and sustain its prestige. Thanks to this prestige, Barcelona continues to attract such global talents even today.

However, some transfers are more of a dream than a reality and it is understandable why. Either due to the price or age-related concerns, sometimes the timing is just not right for certain players to make a move to a club like Barcelona. That, however, still cannot stop people from making up scenarios in their heads.

Ultimately, even professional players are human beings and they can have their own likings and dreams. On that note, Barcelona gem Lamine Yamal was recently asked a question that presents a potential scenario that will likely not happen any time soon but it does present a fascinating concept.

As highlighted by Radioestadio Noche (h/t Mail Online), the 17-year-old Barcelona wonderkid was asked about who would be the player he would like to play alongside the most. To this, the Euro-winning Spaniard had only one reply: “Kevin De Bruyne.”

A classy answer and one that most people will look at and approve of. The €50m-rated Belgian maestro, currently a star player for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola based in the English Premier League, remains one of the world’s finest players and one of the most brilliant midfielders to ever play the game.

For Lamine Yamal to claim him as being one of his ideal partners on the pitch if he ever got the chance to play with him only feels like a natural answer. Both players have a keen eye for creativity and their creative statistics speak for themselves.

De Bruyne, however, has been doing this for far longer than Yamal has had the opportunity to do and it is clear that he may be a player that the Barcelona youngster looks up to.

Unfortunately, it would seem that De Bruyne’s remaining time at the top level of football will likely be spent at Manchester City and a possible Barcelona transfer will be nothing more than a what-if scenario.
