There continues to be a trend regarding the recent batch of Barcelona talents to come out of La Masia. Instead of producing players that have a great disparity of talent between them, these new emerging stars have the potential to be world-beaters. Fortunately for a Barcelona that also worries about the short-term, some of them already are.

While people may wish to argue about which of those players is capable enough of being labeled world-beaters, there is one out of them who would unanimously be agreed upon. That certain someone would be 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, who continues to leave everyone awestruck.

Even in the recent 2-1 defeat to Monaco, he was one of the few beacons of hope for the team. Despite the team being a man down and in a state of utter confusion, Yamal stepped up and scored the only goal that Barcelona would score in that match through a brilliant display of his quality.

Now, after the likes of Lionel Messi and even Cristiano Ronaldo have already praised him, even the young superstars from other clubs are willing to recognize his supernatural talents despite being compared to him and being expected to compete with him.

Florian Wirtz, for instance, becomes the latest name to join in on the praise of Lamine Yamal. As he revealed on DAZN, his answer to the question of who exactly is the greatest talent in the world right now was short and simple:

“Lamine Yamal.”

For the Bayer Leverkusen star to openly acknowledge the Barcelona wonderkid as the greatest talent on the planet right now is a big gesture from him. Especially since he is competing in a different league and is also being regarded as one of the biggest talents in football right now, his words hold a lot of weight.

For Yamal and Barcelona, however, the objective remains to focus on their football while taking in the positive noises that are made outside. While these are certainly great words that should boost Yamal’s confidence even further, both he and Hansi Flick’s entire team will need to pick up their pace against Villarreal after an unfortunate European defeat.
