FC Barcelona appointed Hansi Flick as the head coach of their first team after the departure of Xavi Hernandez at the end of the last season. The German coach took charge of the team in the summer and has led the Blaugranes to one of their best starts to the league season in the club’s history.

As things stand, Barcelona sit atop the La Liga table with a four-point cushion and have won all their matches in the league up to now. The Blaugranes have also scored 22 goals in their six matches, and there is no doubt that Flick is getting the best out of this Barcelona team.

With the way that Xavi had to leave the Catalan club, he had every right to hold a grudge with the club’s administration. However, as SPORT has reported, the former Barcelona coach has decided to settle into a more low-key role within the Barcelona setup.

Xavi isn’t seeking any conflict and understands that this isn’t his time to take center stage. For now, he’s content simply enjoying the team’s progress and the way Flick is guiding the Catalans. He frequently attends matches at Montjuïc with his children but prefers to watch most of the away games from home.

Xavi also prefers the focus to remain on the great work being done by Hansi Flick and the impressive performances of youngsters like Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi. Despite being dismissed as head coach at the end of last season in a rather undesirable manner, Xavi remains a devoted supporter of the Catalan club and continues to maintain the same quiet dignity with which he left his position.

In fact, the former Barcelona coach has chosen to ignore any chatter about him as well. He has distanced himself entirely from the noise surrounding his name during this sabbatical year, following two and a half years at the helm of the Blaugrana bench.
