The ACL tear suffered by Gavi can have significant implications for the plans of FC Barcelona going forward. With this injury, the Catalans have lost one of their most important players for the rest of the season and will have to look to the market to replace him in the squad.

For this purpose, the Catalans have been linked to several midfielders in recent weeks and months, and one such midfielder that has been associated strongly with Barcelona is the Girona captain, Aleix Garcia.

The player himself has expressed his desire to play for Barcelona, but Girona are not too keen to negotiate for him, as their President, Delfi Geli, recently stated that the only way for Garcia to leave was through his €20 million release clause.

It is still very uncertain whether the paths of the player and Barcelona will cross in the future, but he is not the only Girona player that interests Barcelona.

The Catalans are also keeping a close eye on the winger Savinho, and as SPORT has reported, Garcia identified the Brazilian as one of the players who has impressed him the most this season.

The Girona captain was responding to an interview with a digital creator, and had some other notable responses in addition to this one. For instance, when asked who was the best midfielder in the world currently, Garcia picked the Real Madrid superstar, Jude Bellingham.

Similarly, Aleix Garcia picked a Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho, as his childhood idol, and also picked up the La Liga match against Barcelona as the one that he had enjoyed the most.
