Alejandro Balde is one of the players that have exploded this season and is definitely making a name for himself in the game. Currently, his contract renewal is being negotiated between the club and the player’s agent, which made the central point of his recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, which also touched upon other aspects of the player and the team.

Answering to a question regarding a recent comment from Joan Laporta that the renewal is practically complete, the young Spaniard commented that while his agent had a meeting with the club recently, nothing is complete for now, and anything can happen in the future.

When further probed about the status of his renewal, he said that he has put his complete faith in his agent, but he hopes to play for Barcelona in the future. He was also asked whether he has received any offers from other clubs, to which he responded cautiously, saying that he is not aware of any such offers as this business is dealt with mainly by his agent.

In regards to his game and the evolution of his play style, he said that the main difference this season has been his ability to resist injuries. Furthermore, he shared in the interview that he can also play as a winger and did not wanted to be a left-back in his initial days as a footballer, but once having played as a full-back, he has stayed there since then. He claimed his speed and ability to play 1v1 as his best abilities.

Regarding the recent change in formation, Alejandro Balde claimed that while he was comfortable in either formation, he prefers a 3 at the back as this allows him greater freedom on the pitch. He also praised the form being shown by his colleagues in the defense, with Kounde, Christensen, Araujo, and Ter Stegen all having a phenomenal season. He also had words of encouragement for Fati, as he showed optimism that he will get over the bad times soon.
