Mateu Alemany has recently confirmed his departure from FC Barcelona at the end of the season, and his exit from the club can have significant implications for the long-term future of the club. There has been speculation on why he has decided to leave the club, but no clear and solid reason has emerged regarding his decision.

Some of the mystery surrounding his departure from the club has been cleared as the club’s Director of Football spoke to the media before the tie against Espanyol, his first media appearance since his decision to leave the club was confirmed.

While he remained cautious about disclosing too much information, he used this media appearance to convince the club’s fans about his commitment to the FC Barcelona project. He mentioned that he was fully committed to the club and its President to complete the operations that are currently in progress.

Further commenting on this subject, Alemany made it clear that he had the option to extend with the club, and while this has not happened, he is totally committed to the President as long as he is working for the club.

However, he did not give any indication on what his next venue would be, and claimed his destiny is FC Barcelona for now.

When questioned on whether he is feeling the pressure to leave the club with all its operations sorted out, he responded that self-pressure was the most important motivation for him, and this motivation did not change for him at different times of the year and remains the same throughout the year.

He also provided his insights on the match at hand and was confident that the team’s form would ensure that FC Barcelona would come out victorious in this tie, which also commended Espanyol’s grit and ability to withstand pressure.

He also reminded the press of the importance of this day and asked everyone to celebrate the league success enjoyed this season.

Thus, his comments have not done much to uncover the exact reasons for his departure from the club, but have still ensured the Barcelona supporters that Alemany is committed to the club, and would give his all to complete the operations the club is involved in at the moment.
