FC Barcelona want to build on their successful 2022-23 season, in which they won two domestic titles, including La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. The club is working in the off-season to build a competitive team for the next season, and is involved in a number of transfer operations.

SPORT has provided an overview of the transfer developments having taken place at the club up to now, which is provided below.

Arrivals

Two central defenders have joined the club till now, with Inigo Martinez coming on a free transfer after his contract with Athletic Club expired, and Mikayil Faye having arrived from Croatian second-division club NK Kustosija for €5 million alongside add-ons.

Departures

Generating funds and making space in the wage bill by ensuring the departure of several players was one of the main objectives for FC Barcelona. Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have already left the club, while the club is still looking for suitors for a number of other fringe players like Kessie, Torres, Fati, and Garcia to name a few.

Returning from Loan

Barcelona sent a number of players on loan for the last season, who are about to return to the club. These players include Abde (Osasuna), Lenglet (Tottenham), Nico González (Valencia), Umtiti (Lecce), Sergiño Dest (Milan), Álex Collado (Elche), while another loanee, Francisco Trincao, has already permanently been sold to Sporting Portugal.

Reportedly only Abde and Nico have a chance to remain with Barcelona for the next season, while the futures of these other players remains to be decided.

Potential Arrivals

FC Barcelona higher-ups are in contact with a number of players to strengthen their squad for the next season. The players that have been closely linked with the club during the last few weeks include Vitor Roque (Athletico Paranaense), Gündogan (Manchester City), Zubimendi (Real Sociedad), Kimmich (Bayern), Amrabat (Fiorentina), and Rubén Neves (Wolverhampton).

According to recent updates, FC Barcelona are quite near to signing Gundogan on a free transfer, while the Catalans have also reached an agreement in principle for Vitor Roque.
