With the 2023 summer transfer window edging closer, The preparations of Barcelona for a busy period, full of exits and arrivals, are beginning to take shape. However, riddled with financial frailties and competition from the English Premier League, success will not be as smooth sailing as desired.

The resignation of Barcelona’s director of football, Mateu Alemany, has sent serious shockwaves in the football sphere. Rumored to be incentivized by Aston Villa’s immense financial package, even a mid-table club from the commercially rich Premier League has given a glimpse of the power the league holds.

According to reports, ironing out the details of Ronald Araújo and Pablo Gavira’s contract renewal situation remains the hierarchy’s priority. Once their continuation is set in stone, advantageous opportunities to exploit in the transfer market will be targeted.

The Catalans’ midfield has been linked with an array of players. Considering the success of free transfers as of late, smart low-cost deals may prove to be the path FC Barcelona follow in search of bolstering an already stacked squad.

One of the names floating around on the grapevine is N’golo Kante. The French midfielder is currently in the midst of running down his contract as he will become a free agent in approximately 2 months. Despite the apparent interest from Catalan giants, Mundo Deportivo claim that interest from English giants, Arsenal, has made the Gunners a very likely destination for the World Cup winner.

Kante’s play style is characterized by his tireless energy, defensive nous, and ability to make decisive contributions at both ends of the pitch. He is a key player for both his club and country and is widely regarded as one of the most important midfielders in the world.

In spite of the 32-year-old’s difficulties with physical setbacks and injury mares, he will be highly sought after as several European giants will find themselves battling out with each other to acquire the services of French International.
