Young Brazilian sensation Vitor Roque has had FC Barcelona hot on his trail for quite some time, and now as the reports of the youngling from Athletico Paranaense spread out more and more, additional attention is garnered from clubs even apart from FC Barcelona.
The first of such clubs to be interested in the young Brazilian is the English Premier League side Arsenal. Led by a former student of Pep Guardiola himself, Mikel Arteta and his Gunners are currently sitting atop the English Premier League table and as reported by Spanish outlet SPORT, they are now trying to inquire about the South American sensation Vitor Roque.
As the player continues to showcase himself for the revelation and “predator” that he is at the Under 20 South American Championship, it is being reported that Edu Gaspar, current sporting director at Arsenal, has had contacts with Vitor Roque’s agents and representatives to show direct interest in acquiring the services of the nicknamed “Brazilian Luis Suarez”.
On the contrary, FC Barcelona themselves have also made initial moves towards the acquisition of the Brazilian youngster, as previously reported. Through their contacts such as Deco and the latter’s affiliations with Luiz Felipe Scolari, they have already put a foot down in advancing talks. Moreover, it is reportedly believed that the player himself along with the blessing of his own family, is inclined towards the prospect of joining La Blaugrana.
As the player nears the age of 18, it will surely be interesting to see where the young striker ends up going. One thing remains certain however, and that is the realization that Arsenal will not be the last of other clubs apart from FC Barcelona who are drawn towards the prospect of signing the very talented Vitor Roque.
