Owing to their weak financial condition, it was clear that FC Barcelona would have to sell some of their players to be able to sign their preferred targets. The Catalans had even marked some of their important players for sale, but injuries and the desire of these players to remain at the Blaugrana club have kept any sale from materializing.
However, there is no shortage of suitors for several Barcelona players, and one of the players who is attracting a lot of interest from the market is the Senegalese defender, Mikayil Faye.
The youngster was expected to be a part of the first team this season after his impressive year with Barcelona Atletic. But the overbooking in the center-back position means he will not have an important role under Flick, especially as he was unable to convince the German tactician to use him as a left-back option.
In such a scenario, SPORT reports that the defender is not even training with the rest of the team despite there not being any physical issue. This situation means that he can be closing in on a transfer away from Barcelona.
After arriving at the Blaugrana club only last year, the defender has roused a lot of attention in the market this summer. The one he can prefer is from the French side Rennes, as they are assuring him of a starting position.
Meanwhile, the Turkish club Besiktas has also put forward a proposal of €10 million for him, while Inter Milan have also made inquiries about him. The player himself wants to join a side that will allow him to get a prominent place in the team so he can continue with his growth.
On the other hand, FC Barcelona will also allow Faye to choose his future team but would demand a reasonable fee and also a buyback option on the player.
