Aston Villa planning €14 million winter investment, Barcelona midfielder on list

The Ivorian Midfielder Franck Yannick Kessie joined Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer of 2022. Previously winning a scudetto with AC Milan, the midfielder arrived with great aspirations to the Camp Nou-based side.

However, all has not particularly gone well for him. He has been troubled with injury issues for a longer period of time and whenever he has played, has had some troubles adjusting to the different system deployed here as compared to his previous club.

According to new reports from SPORT, Franck has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, mainly Aston Villa, and they would also place an official bid of nearly €14M in the upcoming winter window.

The English club hasn’t had the best of seasons till now, starting on a low which ultimately made them sack Steven Gerrard. The former Villareal manager Unai Emery was chosen as the new Coach as the club look’s to bounce back, and one of his first reinforcements could be the Ivorian.

Not only Aston Villa but their Domestic rivals Fulham are also interested in signing the veteran midfielder, as the reports from SPORT claim. La Blaugrana might receive irrefutable offers for the Ivorian, and it could be a huge financial aid for the club and would also help them in the pursuit of signing their target players.

Latest reports from Mundo Deportivo suggest that Barcelona’s primary winter targets would be signing a Right Back and a number and a defensive midfielder. Benjamin Pavard and Ilkay Gundogan were the latest names being linked to a possible Camp Nou switch as of late, but it remains to be seen how this upcoming winter transfer window unfolds for the Catalan giants.
