Very important days are coming up ahead for FC Barcelona in their quest to find success. La Blaugrana had seemingly lost their way in recent times, but they are now looking to rebuild once again. With a combination of the excellent youth talents and elite signings, Barcelona wish to compete at the highest level again.

To do that, Barça are more than eager to bring in Spanish forward and 22-year-old Athletic Club star Nico Williams. Already a hero for Spain at the European Championship, and a key player for his club, he is seen as that crucial piece for La Blaugrana that will propel them forward.

In fact, the Catalan club is now so confident about being able to pay his €58 million release clause, that they have even sent personal guarantees to his entourage to assure him. However, the one club that continues to be concerned due to these progressions is Athletic Club.

The Basque club does not want to lose their star player for the future, and is doing whatever they can to keep him right where he is. Recently, as highlighted by SPORT, Athletic Club once again made another gesture in the hopes of convincing the player.

By making him the primary name in the campaign to promote their new kit, the La Liga outfit is trying what they can to show him the importance that he maintains there. In their San Mames store, Athletic have already placed the shirt with his name and number in the most prominent position in the window of the store.

Such gestures will likely be appreciated, but it is also true that Barcelona is a step into the elites of world football. The player may have a contract until 2027 with his current side, but Barça are now edging ever closer to paying that €58 million release clause and making him their own.
