FC Barcelona are on the lookout for financially viable deals and, at the same time, prioritize the sale of certain fringe assets that would fetch a decent fee.
In recent hours, reports of Barcelona studying the signing of Joao Felix have begun to emerge. After the player publicly stated his desire to join the Catalan giants, the possibility of acquiring him is on the cards. However, Barcelona prefer to offload disposables in the process.
According to SPORT, given that the Rojiblancos had recently shown interest in Kessié and Ferrán Torres, Joao Felix’s interest in joining Blaugranes might lead to a potential swap.
Not only would Barcelona strengthen their squad with a player Joan Laporta has shown great interest in; but the club will also unload one of their wantaway players.
Although Joao Félix’s representative, Jorge Mendes, has communicated with both parties, Barcelona and Atletico continue to insist that there has been no communication between the clubs.
Owing to Atletico’s interest in bolstering their attack and midfield, deals involving either Ferran or Kessie are highly plausible. In fact, these are players Simeone has shown an inclination towards previously.
However, one of the biggest obstacles for Atleitco is paying their wages, which is a major roadblock that Atlético already encountered when they showed interest in Kessié’s case.
Still, it cannot be ruled out that Barcelona and Atletico will ultimately come to a consensus. The two clubs have had a lengthy history of cooperating in recent years, and a deal involving Felix and one of Kessie or Ferran is on the table.
