Players who gain the privilege to represent FC Barcelona often try to make the most of it. Some arrive for the legacy of the club, others sometimes arrive for the money involved, but certain players arrive to represent La Blaugrana with passion as their primary motivator.

One such player is undoubtedly Joao Felix. The Portuguese forward has managed to showcase on several occasions that he is living his dream of representing his favorite club.

Initially, his own statement claiming that Barcelona was his dream club was a major advance. Since then, his arrival on loan from Atletico Madrid has given Barcelona many joys. While he does gestures similar to this often, he pointed towards the Barça crest several times after scoring in the recent game against Porto.

Possibly as a reference to that, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo was asked about a certain possibility. As SPORT reports, Cerezo was questioned, among other things, about the chances of Joao Felix kissing the Barça badge in case he scored against Atletico themselves in the next game.

Interestingly, the Atletico Madrid president did not shy away from the question. Instead, he believes that the 24-year-old could end up doing that and it’s probable because he possibly feels something special for Barcelona:

“Keep in mind that many players kiss the badge. I don’t know what he has in his mind right now; it’s been two years since I spoke with him. But really, if he kisses the Barcelona badge, it’s because he feels for Barcelona; otherwise, he wouldn’t do it.”

During that same interview, he was also asked jokingly about the possibility of Felix somehow missing the game. However, showcasing a presence of sportsmanship, Cerezo commented that he would wish nothing of the sort:

“I always think that football is a spectacle and we should see teams with the best players. Of course, Joao Felix is a magnificent player.”

The excitement around the clash against Barcelona and Atletico thus continues to build. On the 3rd of December, Barcelona will welcome their opponents from Madrid at the Montjuic Stadium. With both sides not too far apart in points, a victory will be the objective in either side’s sights.
