FC Barcelona hold a great value to its talent within the subsidiary ranks. Amongst them have previous world beaters emerged from time to time. The likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, and the current head coach of the first team, Xavi Hernandez, have all been products and graduates of the subsidiary sides at one point or another.

Now, as the season of 2022/2023 comes to a close, so does the respective league campaigns of the various subsidiary teams as well. Barcelona Atletic, specifically, face a hurdle of 6 ‘finals’, where they must win to ensure the accomplishment of their primary objective of achieving promotion to La Liga SmartBank.

Having thus far accumulated a total of 53 points throughout the season following a 3-0 victory over SD Logrones, Rafa Marquez’s side could be looking at the possible opportunity of qualifying to La Liga SmartBank for the first time in the last 5 seasons, a goal that has evaded them during that period.

A possible promotion holds both financial and sporting benefits for Barcelona. On a financial level, a sum from anywhere around €10 million or above could be attained should they manage to clinch promotion, an amount that helps the club in these economically troubling times.

Then moving on towards the sporting benefits, a promotion to La Liga SmartBank ensures and cements Barcelona’s priority towards their youngsters and their subsequent development, something that would progress even further in a higher division.
