Barcelona to receive fitness boost ahead of Catalan Derby

According to the Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo injured Barcelona midfielders Sergi Roberto and the new summer arrival Franck Kessie can be available possibly before the Derby day with fellow Catalan club RCD Espanyol.

The next matchday is going to be played after the world cup as club football goes on a halt due to the very same reason, and the club expects a major injury boast before the fixture preparations begin.

Kessie suffered a hamstring injury during the last Uefa Champions League matchday against Viktoria Plzeň, which ruled him out of any possible Game time for a couple of months. As for Sergio Roberto, he dislocated his shoulder and had to leave the pitch against Athletic Bilbao.

The Spaniard has had a dream start to his season considering he was on his way out for free before the season began, mustering a few assists and looking responsible on the ball. His link-up abilities distinguish him as to why he’s used as a right back despite him not belonging to that position.

As for the Ivorian, it hasn’t been a bright start when you think of his career as a Rossoneri. He has looked a bit rusty, albeit due to adapting to the system here as there is a very big difference in how midfielders operate.

He has offered immense work rate and physicality but needs to work on his positioning if he wants to compete with fellow teammates Gavi and Frenkie De Jong for a spot in the first team.

Their return will act as an extra assurance once we look to kickstart our campaign post the World Cup. With Supercopa De España and Copa Del Rey starting after the international tournament is over, quality depth can turn the tides in favor of La Blaugrana in what will be a season-defining period for the team.
