Match Overview:
Fc Barcelona’s first game of the preseason ended with a 1-1 draw against a team currently sitting in the 4th division of the Spanish league system. The result was disappointing, even though we all know it had nothing to decide, there was nothing to win or lose; however, the taste of failure is always bitter.
It was a game full of tweaks and experiments. One of the most visible tweaks we could spot was the role of Nico González in the first half. Unlike some might have thought, myself included, that he will play alongside our new debutant, Kessié in a double pivot – a system many wanted Xavi to try with some players like Frenkie and Franck flourishing there – but the Spanish youngster played as the sole pivot, while Kessié occupied the role of an interior, higher up the pitch – both seemed to work.
Another standout sensation of the day was another newbie, Pablo Torre, who may be new in the crowded, talented mass of midfield in Barcelona’s setup, but this baller will surely challenge for the opportunities in the first team, although on paper the 19-year-old signed just for the B team. Fine touch, great vision & some cheeky little skills in his pocket, another breakout star in the making?
Now the team has headed to the United States to prepare for the next season. This trip will feature four matches, including high-profile friendlies against Real Madrid and Juventus.
Barcelona’s first test will be against Phil Neville’s Inter Miami and he believes that it will be the biggest game in Inter Miami’s history.
Xavi is expected to field a strong starting line-up against the MLS-based outlet with Auba, Fati, Araujo, Alba, and Ter Stagen while highly-rated Spanish teenage midfielder Pablo Torre, will also be eyeing another start to showcase his abilities.
Dembele, Pedri, Gavi, and Busquets could also feature in this match as substitutes to get some game time ahead of the all-important El Clasico.
Potential Line up:
Fc Barcelona:
Formation: 4-3-3
Goal Keeper: Ter Stagen
Defenders: Dest, Araujo, Christensen, Alba
Midfielders: Torre, Nico, Kessie
Forwards: Fati, Aubameyang, Raphinha
I prefer the forward line to be like this ,left winger should be Raphinha ,right winger should be Dambele ,the striker should be Lewandowski. The fixture should be 4-3-3.
