Barca vs Rayo Vallecano: Major injury boost for Barcelona

Xavi had to replace his entire back-line apart from Jordi Alba who somehow dragged himself to play the entirety of the match despite having discomforts. However, most of the players have been declared fit ahead of Barca vs Rayo Vallecano.

Injury update ahead of Barca vs Rayo Vallecano

Fc Barcelona’s trip to Basque Country did bring them the three very crucial points but in the process, Sociedad battered and bruised Barcelona until the full-time whistle. The back-line suffered the most as Xavi had to replace the entirety of his defensive setup apart from Jordi Alba who ended the match with discomforts as well.

Potentially losing Araujo and Pique, two of our most reliable defenders, could have been a major blow for Barcelona in the race for Champions League spots.

However, it has been reported that Jordi Alba, Dani Alves, and Ronald Araujo have been training normally with the rest of the Squad while Gerad Pique is training individually ahead of Barca vs Rayo Vallecano.

Dani Alves:

Dani Alves was subbed out after he suffered a blow and was seen limping while going towards the sidelines, however, he declared himself fit in the post-match interview and is now training normally with the team and could be in contention to take part in Sunday’s league match against Rayo Vallecano.

Ronald Araujo:

Unlike Dani Alves, Araujo’s injury seemed far more serious but after the reports of the tests conducted on his knees, he has been declared fit and is expected to be included in the squad list for the match against Rayo.

Jordi Alba:

Jordi Alba ended the match with some discomfort but has seemed to be recovered in time for the next match. However, Xavi could start Sergino Dest as a Left Back to give some rest to Jordi Alba.

Gerad Pique:

Gerad Pique’s participation in the match against Rayo is still a doubt as he is not training with the squad. Luckily his injury is not that much serious and he could return to full fitness ahead of Barca’s match against Mallorca.
