FC Barcelona continue to insist upon the dependence and reliability on their youth talents in regards to wanting to achieve a sustainable method of development in which homegrown talents and young gems can be entrusted with more responsibilities.
Following the key departure of French winger Ousmane Dembele, a key area of the field where Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez in particular believe extra attention is needed is the attack of the team.
While wingers such as the Brazilian star Raphinha and Moroccan talent Ez Abde will continue to be entrusted with ensuring that the departure of the Frenchman does not leave a lasting toll on the Barcelona depth from the offensive perspective.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona may soon be able to rely upon one of their proven youth talents in the form of a returning Angel Alarcon, with the 19-year-old Barca Atletic forward having returned from a prior injury.
The youngster sustained a severe muscle injury in May of this year and even had to go through the operating room to overcome the damage dealt by it. Initial diagnosis revealed the player would be set to miss out at least 4-5 months of football during his recovery process.
However, unexpectedly enough, the player has reached a level of physical fitness where he is now able to resume proper training after only 3 months having passed rather than the expected amount of time that the Barcelona youngster otherwise seemed to be out for.
Xavi Hernandez has also been insistent that rather than returning to Barca Atletic, he wishes for the forward to remain within the first team dynamics of FC Barcelona given that he is a young talent the coach already has placed his faith in before as well.
Moreover, it was initially even discussed if the 19-year-old could travel with the Barcelona squad visiting the United States of America for their pre-season tour, but it was instead decided that recovery at home in Barcelona would be best suited for the youngster’s current status.
With Dembele’s exit having opened up new chances within the first team, and given that some players may have to cover positions where they are not exactly specialists, the Barcelona youngster could see himself getting more minutes than otherwise would have been expected.
