With only a couple of hours left, FC Barcelona are hoping to conclude their pending operations as soon as possible without any more complications. Thus far, deadline day has been quite the taxing ordeal for the offices of the Catalan club as it is.
It is particularly in the youth talent department where many movements have taken place or are lining up to take place in the coming hours or already have done so.
The loan move of 20-year-old Barca academy prodigy Ansu Fati to Brighton as well as the expected departure of 21-year-old Ez Abde to Real Betis are both operations that have already been finalised or are about to reach that stage.
The latest youngster of Barca’s to attract external interest is La Masia starlet Marc Casado, according to Spanish journalist Santi Ovalle. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder who primarily plays for Barcelona Atletic has received an offer from La Liga side Granada CF.
Offering him first-team football in the Spanish First Division, Granada are attempting to entice the 19-year-old prodigy with game time that Barca cannot offer, and a level of competition much greater than he currently faces and plays with while representing Barca Atletic.
However, the journalist also emphasizes that Barcelona consider the young academy gem as an essential part of their future plans and views him as an asset for the club’s long-term prospects. Furthermore, the player himself is determined to succeed with the Catalan club and appears inclined to stay.
With almost 2 hours still left to go in the summer transfer window, Barcelona are looking to complete certain operations that are not necessarily blockbuster ones but integral ones from a sporting perspective of the Blaugrana club.
