FC Barcelona are trying their best to give Hansi Flick a competitive squad as soon as possible. Unfortunately for the German coach, he will still have to endure much of the preseason without having access to some key players. Regardless of that, Barcelona is working on several operations.

Certain crucial deals, such as the ones involving Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, are currently reported to be on track. However, it is also pivotal for La Blaugrana to focus on other areas of reinforcement as well and the club made that progress when they signed a certain 22-year-old striker.

Pau Victor, who was at Barcelona Atletic last season while being on loan from Girona, is now a permanent asset for the club. By paying an amount close to the €3 million mark, Barça have been able to secure his services and have him ready for Hansi Flick to test out.

As highlighted by SPORT, the objective is to now prepare him for the preseason tour to the United States of America. This particular trip will allow the new Barcelona coach to get a good look at his newest reinforcement and make a complete assessment for him.

Previously, Victor has already shown that he possesses the dynamism and eye for goal to play alongside the elites. Last season, he managed to become the top scorer for Rafa Marquez’s Barcelona Atletic, and that background will undoubtedly be important for his future as well.

However, it will eventually be up to Flick to decide whether or not the player deserves to continue with the first team next season. In case the German technician believes him to still be raw, there are offers on the table both for a permanent transfer and also for possible loans.

Before any of that happens, Pau Victor will have his shot to prove his quality. At the moment, barring a few returning stars, most of the first-team players remain unavailable and it will give opportunities to youngsters such as the former Girona striker to impress the coach.
