FC Barcelona continue to suffer when it come to their management and player selection. While a lack of specialists has cost them dearly this season, future losses are also expected. However, the primary case of defeat for Barcelona will likely end up arriving in the form of their managerial departure.

Xavi Hernandez, the current head coach of Barcelona, looks set to part ways with the Catalan club in the summer. He has already made this information public, and at the moment, his decisions look to be final. However, there are those who are not willing to let it stay that way.

According to SPORT, there are important people within Barcelona who believe Xavi still has a job to do at the club. This includes club president Joan Laporta, who still thinks that Xavi’s continuation with Barcelona would be the ideal scenario for now.

This opinion of his is also shared by Rafa Yuste, another key figure for the club. Barcelona know that it will be difficult to bring in a quality replacement for the departing Spaniard, and their demands to build a competitive squad will likely be such that Barça are unable to completely comply with.

On the other hand, Xavi delivered excellence despite the restrictions put on him and this favors the condition of Barcelona. However, despite his faults this season, Laporta understands it from a sporting perspective and the lack of backing received by the coach.

Moreover, the report states that Xavi continues to have the locker room’s blessing. The Barcelona team continues to support and rally behind the first team coach and legend of the club, and this faith is crucial as per Laporta in helping the team succeed as a collective unit.

Reports in the past suggested Xavi could opt for a sabbatical year, but Laporta would like to change that. He already has made the Barça coach aware of this and understands that with Xavi still legally contracted to the club for another year, the possibility of making this happen is quite real.
