The Sporting Department at FC Barcelona has been working non-stop for the last few months. Earlier, the club higher-ups were busy with the summer transfer market in which the club had to complete a high number of incoming and outgoing transfers.

Now, the transfer market is closed, but the work of the Sporting staff is still not finished. Headed by Deco, Barcelona’s sporting department now has several key renewals on its agenda for the coming few days. In this regard, they have already tied up Alejandro Balde till 2028, while Xavi’s renewal is also close at hand.

Timeframe for Yamal’s renewal

Another important renewal that the club has to make in the coming days is that of Lamine Yamal. The latest update on this operation has been provided by Mundo Deportivo, in which it is claimed that Barcelona are preparing to officially announce the youngster’s renewal by the first week of October before Barcelona travels to Porto for their second match in the Champions League.

Jorge Mendes will be one of the attendants at the event held for Yamal’s renewal, as he was also for Balde’s renewal a few days ago.

New contract with Barcelona

With this new contract, Yamal will be tied to Barcelona till 2026, with a €400 million release clause. Being only sixteen years of age, his contract cannot go beyond a three-year limit.

However, as already reported here, Barcelona have already laid the basis for a five-year future renewal with a €1 billion release clause after the player turns eighteen.

Lamine Yamal has been an important protagonist for Xavi this season, as he has appeared in all the six games played by the Catalans. He started the matches against Cadiz, Villarreal, and Osasuna, and has appeared as a substitute in all other matches.
