Barcelona have been working on various departures this summer to generate the required funds to accommodate the acquisitions of new arrivals in a quest to improve the Catalan squad.
While the departure of French winger Ousmane Dembele came as an unexpected twist in the tale of their summer plans, there are other departures that are very much within the plans of the Catalan club.
The most recent departure to be speculated heavily was that of Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli, who had sent an official bid worth €15 million.
Now, as per the reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have indeed accepted the €15 million bid from Al-Ahli for their 26-year-old Ivorian midfielder and the player himself has also agreed personal terms with the Saudi Arabian side.
Romano states that the Ivorian midfielder’s transfer documents will be sorted out by Barcelona and Al-Ahli within the next few hours as they remain in constant contact.
As per the details provided, Franck Kessie is expected to pen down a deal for three years which will keep him at the Saudi Arabian side until June of 2026.
Other reports have suggested that the salary for the Ivorian will be €20 million net. Moreover, the final realization for the 26-year-old midfielder to make a change of clubs came following the Barcelona pre-season tour, which helped him realize the lack of minutes he would have to face had he remained with the Catalan outfit.
As it stands, Barcelona will wrap up the exit of both Franck Kessie and French winger Ousmane Dembele promptly in order to generate additional revenue that can then be used to pursue other top targets in the market.
