Frank Kessie arrived in Barcelona in the last summer transfer window but has been unable to carve out a proper role for himself in the squad. He has not impressed Xavi in the limited game time he has got up to now and is also not viewed by the head coach to have the profile and qualities that he wants in his midfielders.
As a result, rumors and reports have been abounding about his leaving the club even within his first season in Catalonia but the player himself is keen to stay at the club. One of the most recent of such reports is that published by SPORT, according to which Barcelona and Inter Milan are in contact with one another for a possible swap of Kessie with Brozovic.
As per reports, Blaugranes are in favor of such a swap, as it would not only allow them to cut their losses with Frank Kessie but would also give them a highly experienced player who can replace the rapidly declining captain Sergio Busquets in the center of the midfield in the near future.
Brozovic himself is undergoing a rough patch at Inter, as he has only managed to start around half of the games in the Champions League and Seria A this season, and would be open to a move away from Italy.
Thus, his relationship with Inter coach, Simeone Inzaghi, could be a factor in him moving away from Milan, while his ball control and ability to resist pressure can pull him towards Catalonia, with Kessie going the other way round.
