With the ongoing slew of transfer news surrounding FC Barcelona, there are certain among them that take precedence. The potential return of Barcelona legend and World Cup winner Lionel Messi is a thought much too vivid for fans of the Blaugrana, who are waiting eagerly to welcome their hero back with open arms.

Yet, good things come to those who wait. As of right now, patience is a necessity when it comes to the current Lionel Messi transfer saga. The player is reportedly willing to return, and the Catalan club themselves are eagerly awaiting a possible opportunity to accommodate his much-hyped potential return.

The current financial outlook of the club is not all too convincing, as they remain barred from extensive transfer dealings due to their ongoing problems with adhering to the laws of financial fair play. They must first free up space in their own salary bill before they move to facilitate any transfer or relevant operations such as that of Leo Messi.

As per reports from Tot costa, Lionel Messi’s camp is expected to hold another meeting with representatives from FC Barcelona to discuss the potential feasibility of Leo Messi returning to Catalonia. The player is reportedly curious and interested himself as to just how possible this dream return really is and if both him and the club can actually make it happen.

Currently contracted with PSG until June of this year, the player could very well choose not to renew with the Parisians and this may just open up the way for Barcelona to attempt to sway Messi away as a free acquisition.

The Barcelona legend’s numbers for the club speak for themselves, with 672 goals out of his total tally of 707 having been scored during his time as a Blaugrana, and 303 of his total 336 assists having been provided during the same period. Not to mention his immense success in terms of silverware with the club, the player’s return would indefinitely generate enormous amounts of buzz and rekindle the fire of hope amongst many who continue to support the Catalan club.
