FC Barcelona are currently in the midst of solving both their sporting concerns for the upcoming season as well as simultaneously addressing their financial troubles and limitations in order to once again become a sustainable entity in terms of its economic standing.
As a consequence, it becomes practically impossible for Barcelona to pursue the biggest names in world football as they once so openly used to. This hindrance has proven to create various dilemmas for the Catalan giants, as they struggle to navigate negotiations on terms that would be feasible for them.
Operations concerning players like Manchester City’s midfield maestro Bernardo Silva are some of the transfer plans that have not gone quite smoothly for Barcelona given their inability to match the financial demands of other clubs that those stars currently remain contracted to.
In recent days, the prospect of a homecoming for former Barcelona hero and Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr has been circulating in both the Spanish and French media.
However, even that operation would require significant amounts of financial resources to pull off, which is why a new approach to establish it is being studied.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona could be given Neymar Jr on loan for a season in a three-way operation that would first see him become a player for a Saudi Arabian team.
Reports indicate that, according to this hypothetical plan, the player would be sent to play on a year-long loan with FC Barcelona following his signing with the Middle Eastern club.
While Barcelona will address his salary as much as possible within their financial constraints, the rest will be covered by the Arabian team.
Moreover, the amount that the Middle Eastern club would be covering in excess would then potentially be compensated by various sponsorships or possibly even a match that would see the proceedings go to the Saudi club.
At the moment however, the club acknowledges the operation is difficult but sees it as one of the only viable ways to bring Neymar Jr back to Barcelona.
Pini Zahavi, who remains closely involved in this possible operation, is continuously working with Joan Laporta as they look to use their strengthened ties with the higher-ups in the Saudi Arabian Federation to assess the possibility of such an operation.
