FC Barcelona have in the past faced worrying times and have been a victim of their star players getting injured or fatigued due to various international breaks where said players travel to feature for their countries.
Injuries to players such as Andreas Christensen with the Danish National team last season are a prime example of why clubs are so reluctant and hesitant about letting their key players partake in said tournaments during ongoing seasons or close to them.

The player was instrumental in their opening match where the team won 2-1 against Guinea, with both goals coming through the Barcelona forward. Yet following that game, the club was adamant that he should not partake in the other games due to wanting him fit for pre-season primarily.
According to a recent update by SPORT, however, the 21-year-old and FC Barcelona had formed an agreement of sorts that allowed the young star to captain his side and feature in the game against Ghana, in which he would go on to both score and assist as well, with his team now qualified for the semi-finals, in which he will participate as well.
The future of the young Moroccan star still remains up in the air, with Xavi Hernandez intent on him being a part of his pre-season team at the very least to be able to test him out while possibilities of a potential transfer also remain quite open.
