Hansi Flick had to start his career at FC Barcelona without many reinforcements in the Catalan team in his first summer transfer window. The Blaugranes were able to provide their new coach only with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, as their financial constraints made it difficult for them to incorporate more players.

Thus, one of the weakest positions in the squad at that time, the midfield pivot, was left without strengthening. However, Flick made use of the academy talent available to him, and Marc Bernal and Marc Casado both proved that they were enough to cover this position at Barcelona for years to come.

However, the Blaugranes have still been linked with other midfielders in the market, and according to Fichajes, one of the players that the Catalans’ coach Hansi Flick wants in their team for this role is the AC Milan player, Tijjani Reijnders.

The Dutchman is a key part of Paulo Fonseca’s team, but would also fit in quite nicely in Hansi Flick’s squad with his ability to control the game and his vision.

This season, he has been playing at a very high level in Italy, and with his performances, he has already established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe. He particularly stands out with his ability to link defense and attack, and top clubs across Europe are getting attentive towards him.

For now, as per the report, Barcelona are evaluating their financial ability to make a move for the Dutch player, as they understand it will not be too easy to convince AC Milan to part with such an important part of their team.

While certainly interesting, it remains to be seen how this operation develops in the future, as Barcelona already have two highly promising young players, Marc Bernal and Marc Casado to play in this position, and they would definitely not look to bring in a player that can disrupt their development and growth.
