By doing so, they have managed to top a particular ranking linked with expenditure and the ‘profits’ of those spendings.
In a recent report, Spanish outlet SPORT has highlighted Transfermarkt’s recent rankings in accordance to the spendings made by various clubs and how their squad’s current valuation looks in relativity to the initial expenditure on said squads.
FC Barcelona currently top that list, with German giants Bayern Munich and El Clasico rivals Real Madrid falling behind La Blaugrana. Barca’s current squad is valued at €814 million, while the cost of this squad accumulated to €327 million, meaning the difference between the current valuation against the cost of their squad to be at €487 million.
SPORT highlights other Spanish teams have made the list as well, with Real Sociedad being fifth in this particular ranking while another Basque club Athletic Bilbao currently sitting at 20th. In a shortened summary, that makes it 4 La Liga clubs in the top 20 of the rankings.
