Injuries have been a sore topic for FC Barcelona lately given their list of sidelined players. Many key stars are currently unavailable for the Catalan giants due to some form of discomfort or injury ensuring that they currently stay in recovery.

Midfield stars such as Pedri and Frenkie De Jong are already injured. On top of that, Gavi also just recently survived a scare following some discomfort. In terms of defenders, Barcelona have also ended up losing Jules Kounde in the latest game against Granada. The Frenchman is now expected to be out until November.

However, considering the depths in various positions, the injuries in attack are particularly problematic. While they have quality backups in almost every other position, their attacking depth is getting stretched dangerously thin.

Lack of available forwards

With Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal all injured, Barça have to seriously consider their offensive recruitment. However, one player who is expected to boost the frontline of Barcelona moving forward is Vitor Roque.

Ironically, the 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid is also out injured. Playing for Athletico Paranaense in Brazil, the young forward got injured near the end of September. Even if his arrival in January is sorted, it was initially expected that it would take him close to three months to recover.

Roque’s miraculous recovery

However, as highlighted by Spanish outlet SPORT, his agent Andre Curry offered a massive update. According to his agent, the player is close to just a month out from making his return:

“Vitor Roque is recovering very well and will be ready within four weeks.”

This news indicates that Roque will be available to play almost an entire month before his expected return. The early forecast was so shocking, that his agent was asked about it directly to which he responded:

He is a young, strong boy, and thankfully, everything has gone very well.”

Expected to arrive in January

Moreover, the agent also spoke about his arrival in Barcelona. Already a confirmed transfer, as the Catalan club made it official in the summer, and his arrival is a topic of hot discussion. As per the player’s agent, it is still expected to take place in January:

“Everything is prepared for Vitor Roque to join Barça in January 2024. Everything has been discussed with the clubs and the player. No one has told me otherwise, so Vitor Roque will be part of Barça’s sports project in January 2024.”

The news of Roque’s incredible speed of recovery is great for FC Barcelona. In the scenario that enough financial fair play is generated for the January transfer window, Barça will undoubtedly bring the Brazilian prodigy over to Spain so that he may begin his European journey.
