FC Barcelona have a lot of pressure on them to make sure that their squad is prepared for not just this season but the next. Mistakes have been made in the past in this specific regard and it has cost the club dearly. Fortunately, Barcelona seem to be moving forward with a lot more planning this time.
However, that does not mean that every single individual at the club is fully satisfied with the way things are happening. Unfortunately, one such player also happens to be a Barcelona captain and also happens to be one of the highest paid players in the squad.
Frenkie de Jong, aged 27, is the player in question. According to SPORT, he is currently dissatisfied with the way that the club has behaved with him and even reportedly believes that they have not been completely honest with him over some crucial concerns.
One of those concerns was over the matter of potentially wanting to sell the Dutchman and then not taking responsibility for it. Now, as a consequence, there is an onslaught of reports claiming that both Barcelona and the player have reached an agreement over his departure in the summer.
That departure will be facilitated by Barcelona as they will look to pay the player his pending deferred salary and then let him be transferred for a transfer fee if any interested club pops up. Unfortunately, this whole debacle concerning De Jong continues to plague any kind of serenity at Barcelona.
In terms of his sporting presence, the Dutchman is still out of action but his return seems close. As per recent reports, it is believed that this coming Monday could be the day that Barcelona end up deciding when the midfielder will end up making his return to the official squad in the coming matches.
