Although the team is performing at a very high level, and getting very good results, there is no doubt that there are some clear weaknesses in this FC Barcelona squad.

The flanks are two such areas of weakness for the Blaugranes. Although Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde have not given any cause for complaint playing on the sides of the defensive line, these two areas still lack depth, as their replacements are only the inexperienced youngsters Gerard Martin and Hector Fort.

Hansi Flick has a lot of confidence in these two youngsters, but that does not mean that Barcelona are not attentive to the options emerging in the market for one of these positions, the left-back. This is clear from the way the Catalans have been linked with the Bayern Munich fullback Alphonso Davies in the last few days.

But according to SPORT, Barcelona are also closely monitoring the development of one of their loanees, Alex Valle, who is having a very good season at the Scottish side, Celtic.

The 20-year-old defender has gradually established himself as one of the starters at Celtic and has already accumulated 9 appearances, in which he has provided 3 assists.

With the way he is performing on loan at the Scottish side, Alex Valle will certainly be an interesting option for Barcelona for the left-back position.

He could also have stayed at Barcelona last summer, especially after his impressive loan at Levante. However, the player was looking for more game time, and thus a loan to Celtic was determined to be the best scenario for the Catalans and the player himself.

Hopefully, the 20-year-old full-back will continue to perform at the level he has shown up to now at Celtic, and build a good case for a place in the FC Barcelona squad for the next season.
