Despite ongoing troubles with La Liga’s restrictive imposition of the wage bill, FC Barcelona are in the pursuit of fulfilling the most urgent needs of the squad as the Catalans look to strengthen diluted areas of the squad.
Deco has traditionally proven to be an excellent servant for Barcelona. His contributions as a player and now in the transfer market help the club scout top talents from Brazil.
According to Diario AS, one of La Blaugrana’s reinforcements will be 18-year-old starlet, Vitor Roque. The current technical secretary, Deco, was instrumental in finalizing the contract with the Athletico Paranaense striker. His familiarity with the Brazilian market and his positive working connection with his agent, André Cury, have been key factors in ‘binding’ Roque.
The young Brazilian prodigy would eventually take over as the center forward, which would make him Robert Lewandowski’s obvious successor, however, his versatility also gives him the option of playing on the flanks.
Xavi recently came out to claim that a backup striker was one of the priorities for the club heading into next season thus Roque adequately fills that void. Even so, the agreement has been reached at all levels; it cannot become official until there is enough salary margin to allow the striker’s registration.
The club’s financial predicament necessitates at least three exits in order to free up enough wage mass to handle impending procedures. He will, in theory, sign for five seasons, and the transfer, which is thought to cost around €40 million, will likely be paid in three installments.
Roque has experienced an incredible upward trajectory, owing to his innate goalscoring instincts at the tender age of 18. Interest from foreign clubs has seen him garner many suitors, but if Barcelona manage to clear exits, they will not have to worry about losing Roque.
