There is never a dull moment with FC Barcelona, even in moments of joyous victories. La Blaugrana are known for the never-ending cycle of drama revolving around the club, and it continues to circle on. Even after the latest victory over Atletico Madrid, Barcelona have indeed lost something of value.

Xavi’s rather brash nature as a coach is a secret to no one. The Barcelona coach, per usual, was quite vocal during the clash against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. Furthermore, as is also quite common to see, it seems that the Barcelona coach’s personality got the better of him.

Initially warned with a yellow card, he was shown a direct red not too long after. This saw the Barcelona coach having to leave the pitch immediately before the half-time mark. However, the repercussions of that red card will carry over as well.

According to SPORT, the original expectation is that the Barcelona coach will now be sanctioned for two games. This would mean that he misses both the outings against Las Palmas at the Montjuic Stadium, and against Cadiz away from home. However, there could be a possible third game ban for him as well.

Given the fact that he is a repeat offender, having already accumulated quite a significant number of cards this season, the committee in charge of such punishments may make him sit out a third game. While this is no guarantee, it could still possibly happen.

Unfortunately, that third game would just so happen to be El Clasico itself. At the Santiago Bernabeu, against Real Madrid of all teams, Barcelona would have to be without their coach in that scenario. Girona have already suffered such a fate, and it did not go well for them.

For now, it seems that Xavi will definitely be sanctioned for two games at least. However, a third is possibly on the table, and it would be a big blow to FC Barcelona. In between those games comes the PSG clash in the UEFA Champions League, however, Xavi will be present for that one game.
