Barcelona remains one of Europe’s most prominent and successful clubs. The Catalan giants are famous for the silverware that they possess, their authentic style of play, and their historic relevance. However, another major aspect that makes Barcelona ‘Barcelona’ is their faith in their own youth.

However, despite the importance of La Masia and the incorporation of new talents every now and then, continuity is never guaranteed. Barcelona remains a demanding and limited club, and for obvious reasons. As such, several starlets every year have to face the brutal axe of having to depart the Catalan club.

Such is the case of 20-year-old Estanis Pedrola. According to the ever-reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the former Barcelona Atletic winger’s future is now set to continue in Italy rather than in Spain.

Having left on loan to play at Sampdoria under Andrea Pirlo, there was a special condition in the loan itself. Upon completing 10 games with the Serie B outfit, Pedrola’s loan would become a permanent deal with an obligation to buy him.

As such, today marks the day that Estanis Pedrola is permanently sold to Sampdoria. According to Romano, Barcelona are now set to receive €3 million as the transfer fee for the talented winger.

Possessing a great ability to unsettle and unnerve his defenders, the Spaniard was a traditional winger through and through.

However, it seems that Barcelona still hold onto the belief that Pedrola has greater heights to reach. Consequently, they have included a buy-back close worth €7 million in the player’s permanent transfer.

While it is definitely a more significant fee than what he is being sold for, it would be rather meaningless in the face of a valuation surge should the player begin to truly kick off. However, this is only valid until 2025, two years from now.

He also has a 50% sell-on clause attached within his new deal. This would mean that should Sampdoria hope to sell him at any point, half of the transfer fee they receive would go directly to FC Barcelona.

This implies that Barça see the possibility of the player’s value increasing significantly and simultaneously the interest held in him. In turn, it could provide a massive financial boost to Barcelona in the future.
