Barcelona confident about renewing La Masia Jewel Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal: “Jewel of La Masia”

As Barca’s very own Juvenil A competed against Damm’s Juvenil A in the Juvenil Copa Del Ray Round of 32, 15-year-old Lamine Yamal took his chance to showcase exactly why FC Barcelona are so adamant about keeping at the club for years to come.

The youngster brought out a great performance across the minutes that he played, yet it was his goal in particular that was able to showcase the brilliance of this future star. Recovering a ball around the opposition’s box with a speedy interception, cutting inside to his left with a brilliant touch that left his marking defender unable to cope, and slotting away a sublime finish into the bottom right corner.

His goal allowed Barca Juvenil to finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief, being the 3rd goal Barca scored in a 4-1 comeback win over Damm Juvenil A. Consistently mesmerizing dribbles, brilliant plays and to top it all off with a great goal, Lamine Yamal recurringly keeps living up to his “Jewel of La Masia” nickname given to him by all those that have seen or experienced him play.

Given the financial situation of the club and FFP restrictions, Barcelona aim to turn towards its own youth, and the club views Lamine Yamal as an elite prospect for the future.

However, due to certain age restrictions, the Catalans will need to wait until at least the 13th of July, when the youngster reaches the age of 16 and becomes eligible for a professional contract.

Until then, La Blaugrana will continue to work on Lamine Yamal’s development and continue to give his renewal the utmost priority, as reportedly it is Joan Laporta himself who is leading these negotiations. This in turn shows how crucial of a piece Lamine Yamal is to the Blaugrana’s future plans.
