In the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona signed the Brazilian prodigy Vitor Roque. However, the youngster has not yet arrived at the club, and one of the biggest questions surrounding the Catalan club right now is whether Roque will be at Barcelona in the upcoming winter window.
As things stand, the FFP situation in Barcelona does not allow for Vitor Roque’s arrival and registration. The club will have to make some extra income in the time remaining till January in order to ensure that the Brazilian can be available for Xavi for the second half of this season.
Barcelona confident of a new source of income
According to SPORT, officials at the Catalan club are quite confident that they will be able to secure an important source of income before December 31st that will allow them to incorporate the Brazilian or any other player that they prefer in their squad.
If the club can take care of the economic side of the operation, Xavi and the rest of the sporting area will decide which player should be prioritized for arrival and registration in the winter window.
It appears that the club is focusing its energies on ensuring it receives the agreed amount from the sale of Barca Studios. Barcelona are in contact with Libero Group, an investment fund that acquired the rights to this asset but has not yet paid the full amount due to the Catalan club.
Libero Group still has time till December 15th to make this payment, but Barcelona are already looking for other interested parties who can pay the required amount to even take up as much as a 49% share in the asset.
New partner will make things easier for Barcelona
Thus, if a new partner is engaged by mid-December or early in January, Barcelona will easily make an acquisition as La Liga would authorize an incorporation depending on the final cost of the operation. Calculations are being made at the club, but the officials are highly confident that a player can be incorporated if the Sporting area asks for one.
A summit is planned for next week to discuss this issue. The Blaugranes are prioritizing Roque’s arrival, as they have already signed him, but the coaching staff also understands that the signing of a midfielder who can play in the pivot position can have a very positive impact on the squad for the second half of the season.
