In the last two months, FC Barcelona have successfully renewed the contracts of several important players in their squad, including the likes of Ronald Araújo, Pedri, Gavi, and Pau Cubarsí.

However, this task of renewals is still not fully complete, and the Catalans are now looking to extend the contracts of a few other important players, with Lamine Yamal, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha being the top-most priorities.

Work is already being done on these three players. In fact, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Brazilian winger already has an offer from the Blaugrana side on the table which will extend his stay here till 2030. The negotiations are still in an initial phase, but there is good harmony between the two parties.

Despite past transfer speculation and external interest, the €80m-rated Brazilian winger himself is keen to continue his stay at Barcelona and is fully committed to the team where he is a clear leader and in which he is playing the best football of his career.

He is also happy living in the Catalan city and did not consider leaving even when the Blaugranes were going through a difficult sporting period, and he had to face a lot of criticism.

This season, he is enjoying a lot of spotlight and has been one of the key players in Hansi Flick’s forward line. He has already scored 24 goals and provided 18 assists, and is one of the best offensive contributors in Europe.

A Release Clause Adjustment in the Works

As part of the renewal discussions, Barcelona are reportedly considering a formula similar to that used for Ronald Araujo’s contract, which includes an option for a future departure.

While Raphinha’s current release clause stands at €1 billion, discussions are ongoing regarding a potential market-based exit clause starting in the summer of 2026, after the FIFA World Cup. This clause would only be activated if a suitable offer arises that benefits all parties involved.

Despite lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian clubs in recent transfer windows, Raphinha has consistently rejected their approaches, reinforcing his unwavering commitment to the Blaugrana.

He remains focused on achieving great things with Barcelona and sees himself as an integral part of the club’s long-term sporting project. Fully aligned with the team’s vision, Raphinha is eager to extend his stay and continue his pursuit of silverware with the Catalan giants.

With the club keen to retain its key assets, securing Raphinha’s renewal would be another significant step in maintaining the squad’s stability and competitive edge in the coming seasons.
