FC Barcelona continue in their stride as they look to maintain momentum throughout the summer transfer window in the hopes of acquiring talents on low financial terms to be able to improve on a sporting level while simultaneously not overlooking their financial restrictions as they look to reconstruct their squad.

The Catalans have most recently set their eyes on a particular youngster who hails from Turkey and is currently turning heads across the continent of Europe. Having signed Inigo Martinez, and most recently Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City, the Catalan club now aspires to go after one of the brightest talents lighting up the continent at the moment.

As per the most recent revelations by SPORT, FC Barcelona continue to pursue 18-year-old Turkish prodigy and Fenerbahce player Arda Guler.

The Catalan giants have accelerated their efforts in order to bring the youngster over to the city of Barcelona in Spain, with the report putting particular emphasis on soon-to-be Sporting Director Deco being adamant on making Guler a Barca player.

However, recent updates also suggest that the Blaugranes are set to face stiff competition from other elite sides in Europe who also consider Arda Guler to be one of the brightest talents in the market.

The clubs reportedly most interested in the Turkish player include the likes of Barcelona rivals and Spanish giants Real Madrid, as well as Spanish side Sevilla, and other clubs from across Europe such as RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.

The most serious interest comes from the Italian Serie A, however, as AC Milan seems to be the most committed team in ensuring the youngster signs for them this summer.

Fenerbahce SK are not open to negotiating for the player’s transfer and any side that wishes to acquire his services will need to pay off his €17.5 million release clause, something that FC Barcelona are open to offering as per reports.

However, as it stands, speculations suggest Barcelona are careful regarding the player’s rather young age, one where consistent game time and exposure to the top level are necessary for his continued development and growth.

In the scenario that Barcelona are successful in landing the 18-year-old’s services for themselves, it is possible that they let him continue for an additional year at Fenerbahce so that he continues to be given consistent game time.
