Confidence is key when it comes to players, especially those representing Barcelona. The stakes are always high and the expectations are even higher. However, assurance and pressure need to find a perfect balance to see a player strive at a club like Barcelona.

Such is the golden balance that Barcelona are trying to find with Portuguese star Joao Felix. The 23-year-old is currently playing for Barça on loan from fellow La Liga side Atletico Madrid. However, given the fragile nature of his potential future, the player is reportedly uneasy about it.

As such, SPORT highlights that Barcelona continue to reassure the Portuguese forward. At the moment, La Blaugrana intend to continue their partnership with Felix beyond just this season. This information has even been conveyed to the player to help him be comfortable with his position.

However, there are understandable complications as well. Under no circumstances would Barcelona be able to spend enormous amounts of money during the summer. As such, it could be possible to even see Felix continue with Barcelona on an extended loan beyond 2024.

For this to happen, Felix will need to definitely improve his numbers. After his arrival, the player was in top form. However, the goal drought that has since followed is the player’s worst since he came to Spain.

Beyond just goal statistics, however, Barcelona acknowledge his ability constantly. Against Shakhtar Donetsk, he was arguably the liveliest addition as a substitute according to SPORT. These performances just need to be met with the right finishing touch or sealing pass.

Moreover, with Diego Simeone having renewed with Atletico Madrid as their coach, Felix’s return to the club becomes even more complicated. The player dreams of continuing to play for Barcelona, and Joan Laporta will be quite willing to pounce at the opportunity to ensure that he continues to do so.
