FC Barcelona now enter the final 15 days of the summer transfer window with their priorities straightened out and already predetermined to avoid any confusion or unnecessary wasting of time trying to finalize the players that the Catalan giants already have in mind to reinforce the squad.
One such key player is 29-year-old Manchester City and Portuguese National team fullback Joao Cancelo, for whom FC Barcelona is active in constant negotiations with his current club as he becomes the absolute priority now for the Catalan club given the impossibility of bringing in other key targets such as Bernardo Silva or Neymar Jr.
For FC Barcelona, a favorable conclusion to the negotiations at hand would be a loan deal with an option to buy the Portuguese star at the end of it for a value not exceeding and ideally below the mark of €30 million according to the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Another possibility that also works for the Catalan club is if Manchester City do continue to push for a mandatory option to buy, then it must come with certain objectives to be met in order to make it an obligatory purchase, with the objectives in mind being reflective of how much Xavi Hernandez decided to rely on him as a Barcelona fullback.
However, City remains difficult to negotiate with in terms of the final price for the transfer which is rumored to be well beyond the €30 million mark that Barcelona are willing to go up to. Yet, time remains on the side of the Catalan giants as City and Pep Guardiola in particular wish to cut ties with the Portuguese fullback as he is no longer in their plans.
Despite the advanced negotiations however, Barcelona still need to enter more funds into their books and records to be able to incorporate the unregistered players such as Inaki Pena, Marcos Alonso, and new arrival Inigo Martinez first and foremost.
Then, it would also allow additional salary margin to be created which could help Barcelona then incorporate the potential arrival of Joao Cancelo and possibly an offensive midfield arrival as well should Barcelona decide to delve in that direction too.
The injection yet to be received for certain percentages of Barca Vision as well as the sales of both French defender Clement Lenglet and American fullback Sergino Dest remain present outlets that could bring FC Barcelona both a sizeable injection of funds overall as well as help create a significant salary margin to operate more freely in the remaining days of the window.
