Barcelona could consider selling out-of-form youngster but only on one condition

Ansu Fati is arguably the brightest talent that Barcelona academy has produced in the last few seasons. Having come into the first team through the ranks, the youngster was able to quickly establish his reputation as a reliable player due to his explosiveness and ability to finish chances.

However, despite his undeniable skills and ability to withstand the pressure of playing against players older and physically stronger than him, Fati has not been able to sustain his form for longer periods of time.

The primary reason for this has been the lack of luck that he has had with injuries, as he has been out for a significant amount of time with injuries. A problem with Mensical Laceration suffered in 2020 kept him out for 305 days and 47 matches, while other minor injuries have also hampered his development.

As a result of these injuries, FC Barcelona have taken a careful approach to handle the player’s development, by giving him only limited minutes on the pitch. Furthermore, the arrival of a number of wingers in the last few transfer windows has also pushed Fati somewhat below in the pecking order.

As a result, there is a growing concern in Barcelona that Fati can be seduced by other clubs for greater opportunities to play and a higher wage. The urgent need for funds at the Catalan club is also cited by SPORT as a reason for which Ansu can be sold in the upcoming transfer windows.

However, FC Barcelona hierarchy is clear that they would sell the player only if he himself wants to leave. This is not the case currently, as Ansu is committed to the FC Barcelona project, despite there being a very low possibility of him getting a secure spot in the starting 11.

Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele, once he recovers from his injury, are surefire starters for Xavi, and other wingers will have to rotate for the remaining third spot. Still, a big offer can change things quickly, as Barcelona desperately need funds, and Fati will be looking to take the next step in his career as a starter at a big club.
