FC Barcelona are still not done with their plans for the ongoing summer transfer window as they believe more arrivals are required for the squad to truly be transformed before the end of the window. As it stands, there are a handful of operations currently being worked on by the Catalan giants.
First and foremost for FC Barcelona remains the priority of bringing in adequate reinforcements at the right-back position as the Catalan club and its coaching staff believe that’s where the club needs to add more firepower and more arrivals to reinforce the side fully.
While Manchester City’s fullback Joao Cancelo remains the absolute priority for the Catalan giants to bring in as the primary Barcelona right-back, there were certain reports suggesting that due to the Cancelo operation, the option of Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda had become discarded as a result.
However, according to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, the new Barcelona Sporting Director Deco has long since been a fan of Fresneda’s arrival, believing him to be a great investment for the future that would also see the value of the player surge as he continues to grow and develop further.
And with the potential departure of Spanish defender Marcos Alonso being assessed by the player and Barcelona, there could be a possibility that the folder for the 18-year-old Spanish fullback could open once again for Barcelona to advance on the offensive to bring the right-back to the city of Barcelona.
It remains to be seen what happens with the Fresneda operation as a whole however, given that Barcelona and Manchester City are currently already occupied with the final details of Joao Cancelo’s move needing to be concluded as per various reliable sources who suggest that Cancelo joining Barcelona is not too far away anymore.
For now, Barcelona will continue to formulate any potential offer to present to Real Valladolid when it comes to their 18-year-old fullback keeping in mind the limitations that they have and the salary margin that they are able to open up with certain departures taking place as well as those close to taking place.
