The Brazilian striker Vitor Roque was the only addition that Barcelona made in the last winter transfer window, but despite the high expectations that the youngster came to his new club with, he has not been able to get a prominent role under Xavi.
He has only been used scarcely by Xavi since his arrival, and things have reached such a point that the Catalans are thinking of sending the youngster on loan in the upcoming summer transfer window, as it would be difficult to register him with La Liga once again, and also to help him get acclimatized with European football at a club with fewer expectations.
However, the player’s agent was clear that if his client left Barcelona, it would not be on loan, but he would leave permanently, and in such a situation, big clubs across Europe are being linked with Roque.
One of the teams that was interested in signing the Brazilian last summer was Manchester United, and as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Red Devils are once again being linked with the Brazilian.
The report mentions news coming out of England claiming that Barcelona are open to offering Roque to United as a part of a deal to sign the English winger Mason Greenwood. However, the Premier League side wants it to be two separate operations, and not an exchange.
Mason Greenwood had a very good season at Getafe this year, and the Red Devils were quick to execute the clause in his contract that now binds the player with the English club till 2026. However, this will only serve to get a higher price for the footballer, as he is not expected to be a part of the English team because of his personal history.
There has been news of Barcelona being interested in the English winger, and the Getafe President also claimed last week that Laporta had asked him about the winger. However, despite these contacts, the Sporting Department at Barcelona does not see Greenwood as an option going forward.
