Some FC Barcelona players have already returned from their national duties, while others are playing their last games in this international break and will be joining the club training in the coming days.
One of the players who still has not returned from his national side is the Uruguayan Ronald Araujo, who faced Brazil in the last match.
This match was a memorable one for his team as Uruguay beat Brazil after a gap of twenty-two years, and Araujo also had a remarkable outing personally.
Araujo-Vinicius rivalry
This tie saw two of the protagonists of one of the most entertaining battles in Spain face off against each other i.e., Ronald Araujo and Vinicius Junior.
Vini Jr is one of the most disrupting players in La Liga, but Xavi was able to neutralize him in the final of the Spanish Super Cup last season in Saudi Arabia by deploying Ronal Araujo on his flank.
Araujo had been exceptionally well in that match, and ever since then, Xavi has been repeating this formula to keep Vinicius silent, whenever the two traditional rivals meet in Spain.
Araujo shines as Vini kept quiet
In the match between Uruguay and Brazil, Araujo once again came up against Vinicius Junior, and was once again able to keep him silent throughout the match.
As SPORT has highlighted, Araujo had a great game overall, as he had the highest number of clearances, won four aerial duels, and committed only one foul. He also contributed offensively with six passes in the final third.
On the other hand, Vinicius had a very quiet game, as he was unable to disrupt the staunch Uruguayan defense, and resorted to keeping protesting to the referee, asking for fouls and cards.
Now, the 24-year-old Barcelona defender and 23-year-old Real Madrid winger will once again be looking to face off in Spain as there is an El Clasico scheduled for 28th October.
