Struggles continue to remain constant for FC Barcelona. Just as they were beginning to find rhythm and form, it seems that Barcelona were due some more bad news. It now seems that Barça could be set to lose another important player to injury.

The first long-term loss came through Gavi’s ACL injury. The Spanish youngster is now expected to miss the rest of the season, and having gone through surgery already, it remains to be seen just how long it will take for him to fully recover.

Moreover, then came the injury to Marc Andre Ter Stegen. The Barcelona captain and goalkeeper succumbed to back discomfort while on international duty with Germany, and is yet to return to action for Barcelona. Unfortunately, reports suggest even the operating table may have to be assessed as an option.

However, there is now another casualty to an already injury-filled season. As per Javi Miguel, Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez is set to be out of action for at least 4 weeks or a month.

This particular injury is assumed to have been sustained during the warm-up prior to the recent game against Atletico Madrid. The Spanish defender was initially in the lineup, but was ultimately replaced by Andreas Christensen following his injury.

According to the official Barcelona statement, his particular case is an injury to the right hamstring. Having been particularly notorious for suffering muscular injuries, Barcelona will be hoping that this time around it is no retained case of such problems.

However, unlike last season, Barcelona do have the necessary personnel to cover for their injured stars. Against Atletico Madrid, Christensen proved himself to be a worthy starter within Xavi’s team.

Hence, it is almost taken for granted that the Danish defender will now likely get more chances to feature and prove his mettle.
