Despite reaching a new deal with Nike, FC Barcelona have still not returned to the 1:1 status, and the Catalan club requires even more income to be able to do so.
While the Blaugranes are exploring several avenues to reach the required sum, one such avenue would be to sell some of their players who are not indispensable in the current team.
One such player who has been linked with a move away from Barcelona recently is the Danish center-back Andreas Christensen, who is recovering from a discomfort in his Achilles tendon and has not played since the season’s first game against Valencia.
In fact, there has been recent speculation that the Dane can leave as soon as this January, especially as he retains a high demand in the market due to his good performances with Chelsea and Barcelona before his injury.
There are several teams from the Premier League and the Serie A interested in the center-back, but according to SPORT, he is currently only thinking about recovering from his injury and returning to Hansi Flick’s starting eleven as soon as possible.
After not having obtained the expected results from his conservative treatment method, the Dane recently underwent a minor surgery to get rid of the discomfort.
In a recent interview, he revealed that instead of prolonging his spell on the sidelines, this surgery will help him return even sooner than he would have been able to do without it.
Still, the defender is not expected to return to action before January. If he returns to the pitch by that month, he will start working on his objective of getting a place back in Barcelona’s starting eleven, but this will be a tall order as Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi are playing at a very high level and Ronald Araujo is also expected to return to action in a matter of days.
