Various changes have been in motion in the case of FC Barcelona over the course of this ongoing summer transfer market and arguably over the last few years as well.
A revolution is taking place within the boundaries of the Catalan giants, and one by one the evolution continues to advance.
The most recent update in this revolution came in the form of Barcelona making official the appointment of former player Deco as the new Sporting Director of FC Barcelona. As it stands, him and Barcelona’s Director of Football Mateu Alemany will look to be working together till the end of this summer window.
Following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, however, Alemany and Barcelona are set to part ways with the current Director of Football set to be relieved of his duties which will then be picked up by Deco as per several reports.
As for the future of Mateu Alemany after FC Barcelona, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update in the form of interest out of London from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently assessing the possibility of making Alemany their new Director of Football.
Even in the past, the option of the Premier League is one that has enticed Mateu Alemany with the interest prior to this one having come from Aston Villa and both parties were also set to reach an agreement but last-minute changes saw Alemany stick to FC Barcelona for the summer.
It remains to be seen whether Alemany will end up at Spurs in September or whether the current Barcelona Director of Football will end up choosing another side to join altogether.
