FC Barcelona continue to come to terms with the varying propositions that they may encounter over the course of the summer transfer window when it comes to the opportunity of selling certain players.
Yet, as has become common knowledge at this point, Barcelona are struggling to find offers for certain unwanted players, and for those that they do manage to find offers, they are met with no agreement from the player themselves. Thus, extreme measures may be considered.
According to the latest transfer details provided by SPORT, Barcelona have come to understand that if they are to bring in significant revenue through the sale of players, they must be willing to sacrifice even one of the ‘untouchables’ if the need arises.
As per journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, Barcelona still do not completely discard the possibility of selling Dutch midfielder Frenkie De Jong if a sizeable offer for the 26-year-old arrives before the 31st of August.
In recent weeks, there has been speculation of rising interest in the midfielder from the Bavarian club of Bayern Munich, whose coach Thomas Tuchel apparently considers De Jong a talent that he would much appreciate within his side.
Similar interest from Manchester United and Erik ten Hag continues to persist as well. This possible scenario of De Jong being sold has mainly escalated due to the inability of Barcelona in getting Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres agree to a departure.
On the other hand, while the permanent departures of certain loanees are progressive positively, there is suspicion within the club that the funds generated from their transfers may not be too significant for the Catalans over the course of the summer window.
